OSSMA Plus Services

OSSMA Plus is a service available exclusively to students, which includes medical support—covering medical treatment and rescue expenses of up to 100 million yen—in addition to the standard OSSMA assistance services.

This medical support also covers emergency treatment costs for pre‑existing or chronic conditions (when there is no ongoing treatment at the time of departure from Japan and symptoms worsen unexpectedly), as well as emergency dental treatment costs, which typically require additional riders in standard overseas travel insurance.

Please note that OSSMA Plus does not include coverage beyond medical treatment and rescue expenses (e.g., personal liability or damage to personal belongings).

OSSMA Plus members may obtain coverage for areas not included under OSSMA Plus—such as those normally covered by general overseas travel insurance—by enrolling in the “OSSMA Plus Members‑Only Complementary Overseas Travel Insurance.” (See here for details)

Please compare the details of each overseas travel insurance plan on your own and apply for the services after taking into consideration your travel plans, financial situation, and other relevant factors.
