To achieve these goals, I, with help of other alumni, am willing to mentor the existing students, and prepare them for the future challenges, their endeavours and careers paths, through experience sharing based on what I and the rest of alumni have accumulated from our diverse learning in the Tsukuba University and decades long experience. It is my pleasure to congratulate the University of Tsukuba for their 50th anniversary. Since its founding, the university has become highly recognized for its innovative approaches to education in different areas. Passionate faculty, staff and students who are making a difference in Japan and the world. I’m proud to be part of its history graduating from Master and PhD in Public Health in 2022, during my time as a student, people recognized the university high level, and congratulated me for studying there.
As a graduate of the University of Tsukuba, we feel a special connection to our university, after completion, we keep in touch with our professors, staff and students, feeling this sense of belonging. With the Tsukuba Universal Alumni Network, we can collaborate around the world. We can provide career services, mentorship to International students who want to work in Japan, abroad, or return to their country.
In 2019, along with other fellow Peruvians we designed several posters commemorating the Peruvian independent anniversary, they were exhibited at the main library in July. We showed the flora and fauna, and tourist places of Peru. During my time at the university, we created strong bonds with other Peruvian and Latin American students, supported each other and built the roots for the Association of Latin American Students. I have belonged to the Board Of Directors of APEJA, Peruvian-Japanese Academic Association). From 2017 – 2022, where we gather other fellow Peruvian students, lecturers and researchers in Japan. We hold an annual meeting supported by Peru’s embassy in Japan where we present our research and discuss being a Peruvian researcher in Japan. We support each other. With my previous experience, I think I can lead the Tsukuba Universal Alumni Network Once again, congratulations on 50 years of history-making. The future is bright for the Tsukuba Universal Alumni Network, and I look forward to working with you.

I am very excited as I sit here and write these words to register for TUAN, a meaningful program to bring back the beloved University of Tsukuba alumni on the occasion of 50th anniversary on October 1, 2023, and the 151st anniversary of the establishment of its predecessor, Japan’s first higher education institution, the Normal School. With more than 5 years of experience and achieved both master’s and doctoral degrees here, Tsukuba has become my second home. After graduating from the University of Tsukuba, I had a successful personal path for my career, becoming an environmental expert, actively contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam. And I have always devoted a part of my heart to the Hanoi UT Alumni, participating in the welcoming ceremony of the Rector during his visit to and working in Vietnam in October 2022, introducing the study programs to my friends with many proud of academic professor and friendly and helpful staffs. On this meaningful event, I wish to become the representative of the school’s alumni to be back the beloved campus, to inspire my passion to achieve my dream for future generations as slogan of University of Tsukuba “Imagine the future”!

Dear University of Tsukuba Alumni,
I am writing to express my sincere interest in applying as a candidate for the Tsukuba Universal Alumni Network (TUAN) representative. As a proud alumnus of the University of Tsukuba, I am eager to contribute to the establishment and strengthening of overseas alumni associations and networks, as well as foster closer ties with our esteemed institution.
After successfully completing my doctoral program in Medical Sciences from the University of Tsukuba, I had the privilege of working as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School in the United States. This invaluable experience broadened my horizons and allowed me to engage in cutting-edge research alongside renowned experts in the field. During my time at Harvard Medical School, I collaborated with multidisciplinary teams, participated in impactful research, and built many strong international connections. My international exposure and academic accomplishments have equipped me with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by overseas alumni. I strongly believe that my diverse experiences, combined with my passion for fostering a global alumni community, make me an ideal candidate for the TUAN representative.
If elected, I am committed to promoting active engagement among overseas alumni, facilitating knowledge exchange, and encouraging collaboration between the University of Tsukuba and prestigious institutions worldwide. I aim to create a platform where alumni can share their achievements, support one another, and contribute to the growth and development of our alma mater. I am confident that my dedication, leadership skills, and international research experience will enable me to effectively represent the interests and aspirations of the TUAN community. I am truly honored to be considered for this esteemed role.
Thank you, and I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve as a representative for TUAN. Sincerely, Omar
