SUMMER SCHOOL 2018 ON JAPANESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE HELD IN ALMATY

The Summer School on Japanese language and culture was again held this year at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) on May 21-22, 2018. This program has been held annually since 2016. Approximately 20 high school students from the city of Almaty participated in the two-day program. Faculty and undergraduate Japanese language students of KazNU conducted the lectures on Japanese language and culture.

On the first day

  • Explanation of the summer program (Kadikova Samal)
  • Greetings in Japanese (Shadayeva Madina)
  • Lecture on Japanese characters (Ninomiya Takashi)
  • Japanese cultural experience(origami art by sophomore studying Japanese language)

On the second day

  • Lecture on Japanese society and culture (Yerlan Akhapov)
  • Experiences of study in Japan (Borankulova Samal)
  • Japanese cultural experience(onigiri and tea ceremony by Yumi Onishi)

Undergraduate Japanese language students who have studied abroad in partner universities of KazNU such as University of Tsukuba, Hokkaido University, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Waseda University, etc. shared their study experiences in Japan.
