From July 31 to August 2, 2024, CRICED, in collaboration with IACE (Institute of APEC Collaborative Education) under the direct supervision of the APEC Korean Ministry of Education, held the 2024 APEX (Japan-Korea) at the University of Tsukuba Tokyo Campus.

During the three-day workshop, 22 participants, mainly in-service teachers at the elementary education level in Korea and at the elementary and secondary education level in Japan, shared information about each other’s international exchange projects and discussed issues that Japan and Korea face in the field of education, making the training a fulfilling experience.

APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) is a framework for economic cooperation involving 21 countries and regions in the Asia-Pacific region, and this workshop was a new first step toward promoting international exchange in the field of school education through cooperation between Japanese and Korean teachers.

It is hoped that further development of ties between teachers in Japan and Korea, as well as between students in both countries, will be possible in the future.
