TUAN Topics: Flower Festival (fête des fleurs) at UGA

2024.06.25

The Flower Festival, organized by the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy at Université Grenoble Alpes (a CiC partner university of the University of Tsukuba), was held on May 23, 2024.

The event took place at Jardin Dominique Villars, where a Japanese garden was set up.

It featured Japanese medicinal herbs, lanterns, bamboo fences, and panels introducing Japanese culture related to plants and medicinal herbs.

Many citizens participated in a guided tour of the garden conducted by graduate student Manon Paul-Traversaz. Additionally, a cherry tree planting ceremony, donated by the Consulate Office in Lyon, was held.

Assistant Professor Hajime Akiyama from the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at the UT, who was visiting UGA for research discussions, attended the ceremony.

He exchanged views on the future development of Japan-France exchanges with Consul Ogata, Vice Consul Tsuzuki, Vice Consul Nishikawa, and Dean Michel Sève of the Faculties of Pharmacy at UGA.

We extend our deep gratitude to Manon Paul-Traversaz, the event organizer.
