Associate Professor Koido Visits the Faculty of Sport Science at Ruhr University Bochum with University Soccer Team Students

On March 2, 2026, Associate Professor Masaaki Koido of the university’s Institute of Health and Sport Sciences, who also serves as head coach of the university soccer team, visited Ruhr University Bochum together with members of the university soccer team.

During the visit, Associate Professor Koido and his group observed initiatives related to youth soccer player development presented by Mr. Adam Frytz of the Faculty of Sport Science at Ruhr University Bochum. They also engaged in active discussions on potential academic exchange and collaboration between the two universities, particularly in the field of sports coaching science.

This visit to Ruhr University Bochum took place during Associate Professor Koido and his delegation’s stay in Bochum, which was arranged under a separate program based on the partnership agreement between the university’s Bureau of Physical Education and Sports and VfL Bochum, a professional soccer club based in Bochum.

Going forward, the three parties—the university, Ruhr University Bochum, and VfL Bochum—aim to further expand exchanges in the field of sports by leveraging their collaborative relationship.
