To All TUAN Members in North America
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support of University of Tsukuba, our alma mater.
We are pleased to announce that President NAGATA Kyosuke of University of Tsukuba is expected to visit New York at the invitation of organizations with which he is affiliated.
He is also expected to be accompanied by a faculty member who is active in the field of medical and health sciences at the University.
Taking this opportunity, we are planning a special gathering for TUAN members in North America, where President NAGATA and alumni can meet and deepen their connections.
Tsukuba Universal Alumni Network (TUAN) was established to build a global network among University of Tsukuba alumni and strengthen ties between alumni and their alma mater. To date, however, no TUAN gathering has been held in New York City.
President NAGATA, a virologist by training, spent more than three and a half years conducting research at a laboratory in New York City early in his career.
New York therefore holds a special place in his memories as a researcher.
We have begun preparations to hold TUAN’s first gathering in New York, in this city that is so meaningful to President NAGATA, featuring a lecture open to invited guests and a reception.
We hope that this occasion will also serve as an opportunity to expand the TUAN community in New York and foster lasting connections among alumni and friends of the University.
We are grateful to Mr. MINAGI Hiroyasu , President of NHK Cosmomedia America, an affiliated organization of NHK, for his support in organizing this event.
The gathering is planned to take place at The Nippon Club from the late afternoon into the evening of Thursday, September 17.
Mr. MINAGI graduated from College of Human Sciences, Second Cluster of Colleges, at University of Tsukuba in 1986.
In early September, TUAN in Boston is scheduled to take place for the second consecutive year.
Although this event in New York will follow shortly thereafter, we hope it will provide another valuable opportunity for alumni to reconnect with one another and with their alma mater.
